Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. They are described in the Bible as Fruits of the Spirit.
At All:Starz we have looked at each one over the last 9 weeks and talked about how, if we are followers of Jesus, we should be showing these qualities. We decided that an apple tree is no good unless it produces apples. Who wants tomato plants without tomatoes?
We did lots of activities including playing Jenga and completed a jigsaw puzzle upside down(patience), painted pebbles with Joy on, made cakes and gave them away(kindness), drew on balloons (gentleness) only a few popped! and we made fruit salad and fruit smoothies, which the children all enjoyed sampling.
Ellie sourced a tree!! We hung fruit shapes on each week with the ‘fruits’ on it to illustrate what we had been looking at.
We are now studying the Christmas story. Keep a lookout for what is coming up next.
