Newsletter March 2023

William Wordsworth wrote this poem in 1802 after a forest walk with his sister. You may have learned it at school.

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils.

The snowdrops have probably finished their show for this year, but hopefully your gardens are in full bloom with these beautiful bright yellow daffodils. Then we look forward to the tulips and on towards summer….

Jesus, when speaking to the crowds on the mountainside, talked about the beauty of nature. He was encouraging the people (and us) not to be anxious about things that crop up in life. He said to look at the birds, they find food although they don’t sow or reap….and God cares for us far more than them. He says to consider the lilies in the field, they are clothed in colour even though they don’t have to try! God knows all about us and loves us. The Bible says He even knows how many hairs we have on our head!! (An easier job with some people!!)

So if he loves us that much, surely he wants the best for us. We all know terrible things happen in life that we have to face, no one is exempt, but through all the difficult and challenging times of life there is a heavenly Father who cares for us and loves us through it all. All we need to do is pray for the strength to see us through.

Dear God
Help me not to fear the future, but to trust you when my emotions plunge me downwards and I am in despair.
When times are so bad that I can’t talk and don’t know what to say, help me to know that you are there.
Be my comforter, my healer and bring me peace.

Amen.

Our Church, TLC, the Little Chapel with a Big Heart, is situated in Dychurch Lane, NN29 7JP.

We continue to meet on the first Sunday of every month for Bitesize@10.
Come and share some informal time with us over a bacon roll, tea, coffee and juices. We chat and catch up on each others good news, then have a short ‘Thought for the Day’ to see us through the week!
The door is open and all are welcome. Come and bring a friend.

Every other Sunday in the month we meet at 2.30pm. We are a friendly bunch of folk, we don’t stand on ceremony, so come and share this hour with us.
You will be made most welcome.
Sunday 9th April is Easter Day, the day when we remember Jesus’ resurrection. Our preacher that day will be Rev David Perrett.

Coffee Morning is held every Thursday from 10 am to 11.30.
Tea, coffee, biscuits and even toast, if you haven’t managed breakfast, are served.
Jan and her team will be delighted to welcome you. Bring a friend and make new friends!
